Sugar Snaps

Like mangetout, the sugar snap pea has an edible pod, but it is harvested after the peas inside have matured and swollen. As a result, the pod is plump and round, rather than flat. They may be eaten raw or cooked, added to salads, pasta, stir-fries or as an accompanying vegetable.
