Petit Pois

Literally meaning 'small pea', petit pois are not immature peas gathered from the normal garden pea, but are in actual fact a dwarf variety that produces tiny (0.25-0.5cm) peas with a distinctively sweet flavour. They may be used as an accompanying vegetable, tossed in butter with a small sprig of mint.
