Kohl Rabi
Kohlrabi is a light green or purple vegetable that is grown for its round, bulbous stem. At its best when it is young and small, kohl rabi resembles a turnip in appearance and taste. Although the leaves are edible and can be used in the same way as young turnip tops, they are usually trimmed away before the vegetable reaches the shops.

Small kohlrabi may be cooked whole, whereas larger ones may need to be sliced before boiling. They are best served as an accompanying vegetable with fresh butter or a creamy sauce.
