Conchiglie & Conchiglioni
Conchiglie (also known as pasta shells) is a medium sized pasta formed in the shape of a conch shell. It has a ridged surface, which helps to grip the pasta sauce. It is a great pasta for serving with tomato sauces or for making pasta salad.

Conchiglioni is the same shape as conchiglie, but is much larger. Once boiled, it can be stuffed with sauce and baked in the oven.

Also related to this shell-shape is the tiny soup pasta, conchigliette.
