Meaux Mustard
Traditional moutarde de Meaux has been produced since 1760 using a secret formula that was passed to the Pommery family by the abbots of Meaux, and is sold in wide-mouthed stoneware jars secured with a cork sealed with wax. It is made from a blend of ground and half-ground mustard seeds, which gives it a grainy texture and an appealing musty taste.

The pleasantly hot, distinctive flavour of Meaux mustard is best appreciated when served with simple food such as pork pies, sausages, cold meats and bacon. It also makes an excellent addition to French dressings.
