Tabasco Sauce

Tabasco sauce is a trademarked brand of hot, peppery chilli sauce made in the US state of Louisiana from red tabasco chilli peppers, vinegar and salt. Tabasco sauce has been produced by McIlhenny Company since 1868; however, there are many other kinds of hot pepper sauce on the market, many of them similar to Tabasco.

This spicy sauce may be used as a convenient way of adding heat to a multitude of dishes, without having to chop fresh chillies. It is absorbed more readily than chilli powder and just a few drops can add a strong flavour. Use it to add spice to pasta sauces, soup, gravy, casseroles, salad dressings or any other savoury dish that requires a hot, chilli flavour.
