Pickle
Pickle is a savoury accompaniment made from fruit or vegetables (or a mixture of the two) preserved in a seasoned and often highly spiced vinegar or oil. It is eaten in a similar way to chutney, as a condiment served with curries, cold meat or cheese.

There are a wide range of different pickles, using vegetable such a cucumbers, peppers, aubergines, beetroots, onions and red cabbage, fruits such as limes and other foods such as ginger, radishes, walnuts and herring. Varieties include:
- Aubergine Pickle
A traditional Indian pickle flavoured with coriander, mustard, chilli and garlic and served as an accompaniment to Indian main meals, with naan bread and poppodums or with cheeses and cold meats. - Lime Pickle
An intense and tangy Indian pickle made with limes and hot spices. It is perfect for serving with poppodums and naan bread or with Indian meals. It can also be served with cheeses, salads or cold meats. - Onion Pickle
With the distinctive flavour of pickled onions, this preserve is ideal for serving as an accompaniment to cold meats and cheeses or with a ploughman's lunch. - Sandwich Pickle
A tangy pickle made from a mixture of vegetables, including carrots, cauliflower, onions, swede and marrow. It is used as a spread for sandwiches that include cheese or cold meats. - Sweet Pickle
This pickle is the traditional accompaniment to a ploughman's lunch and is also perfect for serving with pork pies, cold meats, cheeses or salads. It usually contains cauliflower, onions, carrots, swede and gherkins, and has a crunchy texture with a sweet tangy flavour.
