Angelica

Angelica (Angelica archangelica) is a hardy plant grown in temperate zones across the world and used as a herb. The roots, stems, seeds and leaves have a sweet, spicy, slightly bitter flavour and a musky aroma, and may be used in a variety of ways; for example:

  • The roots and seeds can be used to flavour liqueurs.
  • The leaves are an excellent flavouring for rhubarb and jams, and may also be used to flavour salads.
  • The stems are typically candied and used for decorating cakes, biscuits and sweets.
