Corn Syrup
Corn syrup is a very sweet liquid obtained from cornflour (called cornstarch in the US). It is composed mainly of glucose, and is often known as glucose syrup, especially in Europe.

Light Corn Syrup

Dark Corn Syrup
The thin, sticky liquid is sold in both light and dark varieties; light corn syrup has a clear appearance from its clarification process, whilst dark corn syrup is flavoured with caramel, which gives it a deeper colour and a sweeter taste. Both light and dark corn syrup may be used in the same ways as golden syrup in cakes and puddings, and may also be poured over griddle cakes in place of maple syrup.
