Stone Fruits

Stone Fruits

Also known as 'drupes', the family of stone fruits are all closely related members of the genus Prunus. Their year begins with the first cherries in May, followed by outdoor peaches, greengages, damsons, nectarines, apricots and plums and finally ending with the last crop of sloes in November. Hothouse peaches and more expensive imports may also be found during the off-season.
