Whitecurrants

Along with the blackcurrant and redcurrant, the whitecurrant is part of the gooseberry family. The berries grow in clusters of 3-10 fruits, each about 1 cm in diameter.

Less acidic than redcurrants, whitecurrants can be eaten fresh, with their thin, silver-gold skins generously dusted with sugar. As they contain a good percentage of pectin, they are also ideal for making into a delicious jelly.
