Ugli Fruit

The ugli fruit (or hoogli fruit) is a hybrid citrus fruit of grapefruit, mandarin and orange, cultivated in Florida and Jamaica. It has a wrinkled, mottled skin that ranges in colour from yellow to dark green and a light orange flesh. Juicy and seedless, the ugli fruit is easy to peel and segment, with a sweet and delicate flavour similar to grapefruit, only sweeter. It is ideal as an eating fruit and can also be used to make juice and for cooking.
