Citron

This fruit resembles a large, rough lemon in shape, with a thick corrugated skin. Although its pulp is too bitter to eat, the skin is used to make translucent-green candied peel for fruit cakes, marmalades and jams. It is also used to produce the liqueur, Cédratine.

The Buddha's Hand citron is an exotic variety that grows in the shape of a hand with projecting fingers. It is commonly grown for its aroma and for its thick peel for candying.
