Salted Roes

Hard fish roe is the eggs of a female fish, whilst the male's milt (or sperm) is known as soft roe. This edible roe may be taken from sturgeon to produce caviar - or from a variety of other fish, such as mackerel, carp, herring, salmon and whitefish to produce less exotic alternatives.
