Paratha

Paratha (also known as parantha) is a northern Indian unleavened flatbread made using wholemeal flour. It is made in a similar way to puff pastry by rolling out the dough, brushing it with ghee and then folding and rolling it again. It is then either shallow-fried as it is, or stuffed with fillings such as paneer (Indian cheese), potatoes, cauliflower or radish.

Paratha is a light, flaky bread that is best served with thick spicy of meat or vegetable curries.
