Funnels

Plastic, glass or stainless steel funnels are invaluable for decanting liquids into bottles or other narrow-necked containers. A shallow funnel with a wide spout is also useful for transferring marmalade and other preserves into their jars.

Small, china funnels may be placed spout side up in the centre of a pie to help to release steam and to prevent the top crust from collapsing into the contents.
