Oven Gloves

Oven gloves are designed to protect the cook's hands when dealing with hot pans and trays from ovens, grills, stoves, barbecues and microwaves. They are available in a number of styles:
1. Double Oven Gloves
This style comprises of two heatproof square mitts joined together by a length of material. When buying this type of glove, ensure that the length of material is long enough to enable you to work comfortably, especially when handling large pots or pans.
2. Oven Mitts
Available singly or in pairs, an oven mitt is a heatproof mitten which encases the thumb separately and the four fingers together. When buying, make sure the mitt is long enough to protect your wrists and arms when reaching into the back of the oven.
3. Fingered Gloves
There are now fingered oven gloves available made from a soft, flexible heat-proof fabric. These are more comfortable than non-fingered stiff mittens and are excellent for protection against both heat and cold, so they may also used to prevent frost burn in the freezer.
