Food Processors

The food processor has become one of the standard pieces of electrical equipment in the modern-day kitchen, effectively handling chopping, slicing, blending, mixing, puréeing and whisking jobs. However, it is not successful at all kitchen tasks; it cannot process small amounts of food, whip cream or egg whites and can tend to damage the texture of some foods, such as mashed potatoes or herbs.
Choose a model that has a heavy-duty motor and a circuit-breaker to prevent it from overheating or burning out. It is also useful to have a pulse button to enable you to process food in quick, sharp bursts.
It is usually best to choose the largest capacity bowl you can find as, like liquidisers, food processors work better if they are filled no more than half full. Select a model with a heavy base and rubber foot pads to ensure that the machine stays stationary during any operation.
